Unit Trust of India Asset Management Company (short form UTI AMC) came into existence with the combined efforts of the State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Life Insurance Of India, and Punjab National Bank in 2002.
As the name quite clearly suggests, UTI AMC manages financial assets of its clients through mutual funds, portfolio management services and also provides retirement planning services.

The IPO of UTI AMC took place in September 2020 – months after the Covid stock market crash and during the bull market that followed April 2020 onwards.
The IPO was priced at ₹ 554. It listed at a discount of around 14%.
