Established in 1970 as Shri Ram Fibres Ltd, it has a rich history linked to the legacy of Sir Shri Ram, a prominent figure in industrial development and education.
To know more about Sir Shri Ram, he became FICCI President in 1930 and was knighted by King George VI in 1941. He played a role in the Bombay Plan of 1944-45 and chaired Sindri Fertilizers & Chemicals in 1957. A strong advocate for education, he founded Sh. Ram College of Commerce and Lady Shri Ram College for Women are both esteemed institutions in India.
Originally focusing on manufacturing tyre cord fabrics, SRF evolved over the years. It ventured into chemicals, changed its name to SRF Limited in 1990, and expanded into packaging films and speciality chemicals.
The Company initiated its global journey in 1996 with SRF Overseas Limited in Dubai. Significant milestones include the sale of SRF Finance in 1997, entering speciality chemicals in 2004, and acquiring DuPont Fibres Ltd in 2000.
In subsequent years, SRF made strategic acquisitions, entered the fluorochemicals business, and became a global player.
Notably, in 2015, it acquired the medical pharmaceutical propellant business from DuPont.
The Company continued its growth, setting up new plants and expanding its capabilities, such as the production of the next-generation refrigerant gas.
Recent years mark significant milestones for SRF, including commissioning the Multi-Purpose Production facility, Thermal Oxidation facility, the Second CMS Plant, the 2nd BOPP Film Line, and more.
